I really hated Emil. He was the most annoying main character ever. I mean how do you have a flashback of something that just happened 10 minutes ago? Every time he said that line I just wanted to break my knees. They chose the perfect VA for him too..matched his character too much. Luckily Regal was in the game too..I love Regal.

If any of you ever wondered why my favorite color was red, it was because of this game. A character in this game going by the name of Kratos Aurion has red hair in this game. He is one of my character of all times, mostly because of the magical way Cam Clarke voiced him. This game also holds alot of feels for me, but I’ll get to that after I explain why this game is so awesome.
So for those who don’t know, the Tales series is a long-running JRPG series that each have an amazing cast of characters, interesting story, and most importantly a fun battle system. The Tales game have a kinda real time battle RPG System (yes i shall call it that) which lets you run around and input commands yourself while your party is controlled by computers or other players. Turn-based are fun and all, but slashing and performing super moves is just so much more fun and you get to do it with your friends. Well, there more like techniques. I like thrusting (that can mean so many things lol), so for Kratos, I only used the combo of Sonic thrust, Lightning blade, and Super Lightning Blade. Oh how that annoyed my friends. Annoyed them so much. The game is super long, so it gives you alot of time to get to know your characters. There is also an option to decide who ends up with the main character, Lloyd, by viewing various skits and events. In my first playthrough (SPOILERS) Lloyd ended up with Regal. After learning I could get Kratos back in Flanoir, in my second playthrough he ended up with him in Flanoir, but in Heimdell he ended up with Sheena.
(The next two paragraphs is just me reminiscing Feel fee to skip it. Unless you want to feel my feels.)
What makes this Tales game in particularly special to me was that it was the one in the series I played the longest, and with the most people. I use to play this game with one of my neighbor hood friend all the time. We would heat up some microwave pizza and just play for hours until my mom called me to go home. My friend Okera beat the sequel with me, I remember having fun with that. But the most memorable piece of memorabilia attached to this game would be involving my friend Enkel Mezini. After middle school, we parted ways after going to different high schools. Around the time ToS 2 came out (I think it was junior year of High School?) Enkel called me and wanted to hang out. I said sure, but I always remembered bailing on him to play this game. The day me and Okera pulled an all-nighter eating cereal and playing this game, I was supposed to go watch Jackass with Enkel. HOWEVER, Duty called and subsequently cancelled my movie plans as Regal just shot a hadouken at a gate. This probably made Enkel mad, so he decided to come over to my house to find me and Okera in a state of filth and tiredness. After that we started hanging out more often, and here we are today. Yes, I like to think all this happened because of Tales of Symphonia. Thank you game. Thank you.
Another little fun fact (is that what they are now? Fun facts?) that makes me enjoy thinking about this game is this game was a major topic of discussion between me and my recently departed friend, Elvis. We use to make fun of some of the lines the character said, mainly Regal’s line. Regal liked to exaggerate. Alot. This one line made us laugh everytime we heard it. Wanna know what it is? THAT MEANS ITS QUOTE TIME.
“What is this bright light that threatens to engulf us”? Regal Bryant
KRATOS FLANOIR SCENE
Yeah just my favorite scene in the game. With everyone actually, except for Colette’s Flanoir scene. It was severely lacking…
